White Sweet Clover (Melilot) flowers from late June to September over a very long period and pours out very abundant nectar with a rich pollen supply. A single flower raceme can carry up to 800 individual flowers. It grows on moderately dry bare ground, rubble sites, railway embankments and fallow land and is gladly sown in flower mixes. Clover honey is light, mild and flowery and, because of its high glucose content, crystallises quickly.
