iBeekeeper for beekeeping associations
Want to present iBeekeeper at your association, at a meeting or in a training session? Here you will find what associations can do with it today, how to demonstrate it with sample data and where to get slides and a handout.
What associations can do with iBeekeeper today
Everything described here works in the web app in your browser.
A group for your association
In the Community you create a group with the category “Association”. The visibility decides who finds it: anyone can join a public group without approval, in a closed group only members see the posts, and a private group does not show up anywhere for outsiders.
Invitation link
Founders and moderators create an invitation link for the group. Whoever opens it joins the group directly, even without approval. The link is valid for 90 days and can be revoked at any time. Anyone without an account can register on the invitation page. You can also invite friends directly from your friends list.
Join requests
In a closed group, joining becomes a request. Founders and moderators see the open join requests on the group page and accept or decline them.
Organization with roles
If you work on colonies together, for example at a teaching apiary, create an organization. You invite members by email address or from your friends list, and each member gets a role: Administrator, Member or Viewer.
Sharing with members
You share apiaries, groups of colonies or all of your own colonies with a friend or with a whole organization: view only, view and edit, or full control. Sharing for viewing also works in the free package; to grant editing rights you need a booked package.
Friends via QR code
Under Friends, “Connect beekeeper” shows your personal QR code. Whoever scans it sends you a friend request, and as soon as you accept it you are connected. Then you can write to each other and see each other's posts; your colonies and apiaries stay private.
Demonstrating with sample data
In the web app, “Load sample data” under Settings, Demo data creates sample colonies at sample apiaries, with hive cards, feedings, treatments, harvests and inventory. That way you show iBeekeeper with real content without opening your own beekeeping records. “Delete sample data” removes everything again.
