iBeekeeper is beekeeping software for the browser, iPhone, iPad and Android. 15,000 beekeepers use it to manage their beekeeping digitally: hive cards for each colony, treatments, feedings and harvests, plus inventory and tasks. The hive cards can be adapted to one's own way of working with custom fields and ready-made templates. iBeekeeper is free for up to five colonies; beyond that, the price depends on the number of colonies.

iBeekeeper is built for work at the apiary, where a hand is rarely free and there is often no signal. Entries are made right at the colony, even without reception. As soon as there is a connection again, the data is synchronised across all devices. Observations can be recorded as a voice note, and the assistant iBee enters a spoken inspection into the fields of the hive card.

For the medicine record book, the treatment journal and the Swiss stock control, iBeekeeper generates the records as PDFs. Weight check with honey reserve

From each weighing and the empty weight of the hive, iBeekeeper estimates a colony's honey and feed reserve and shows it in a list and a chart, optionally with the total of feedings from a chosen date. A connected hive scale supplies the daily weight automatically.

QR code for the honey jar

Each harvest has its own QR code that takes buyers to a page about the batch on dein-imker.de. The beekeeper decides which details are shown, such as variety, best-before date or region. The location of the colonies is never shown. The labels are available as PDFs in 30, 40 or 50 mm, free for everyone.

Mandatory records

The medicine record book under Regulation (EU) 2019/6 contains, for each treatment, the supplier, the receipt number and, where involved, the prescribing vet, and is generated as a PDF. For Switzerland, there are the stock control and the treatment journal as PDFs, as well as the inventory list of veterinary medicines based on the BLV template.

Two-factor sign-in

The account can be protected with a second step, via an Authenticator app or a code by email, plus recovery codes in case the phone is not at hand. It is set up in the web app under Settings, Security.

Tasks with time and reminder

Tasks get a time and their own reminder, for example one day or one hour beforehand, by email, as a notification or both. A new task can be created for several colonies at once.

Route and share location

If an apiary has coordinates, “Route” starts navigation in the maps app, and “Share location” sends the name and a map link. Initially in the web app.

Kasse, Büro and Community

With Kasse, beekeepers sell their honey at market stalls and in farm shops, Büro keeps the cash book and documents, and Community connects beekeepers in groups and messages. The three apps are available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad; sign-in is with the iBeekeeper account.
