These are the features that take the most work off your hands at the apiary and at your desk.
Frame grid
Mark what you see, comb by comb: brood, honey, pollen, queen cells. iBeekeeper calculates the brood area in cm² and estimates the number of brood cells.
Flying weather at the apiary
During the trial period and with a package, you can see for each apiary when there is good flying weather for an inspection, plus the forage weather and notices of night frost and thunderstorms.
Weight check
In the web app you enter the weight of your colony and see the change from one weighing to the next. With a connected hive scale, iBeekeeper enters the latest reading every day.
Many colonies at once
You create a feeding, treatment or hive card for several colonies in one step, for all colonies at an apiary if you like.
Withdrawal period at a glance
After a treatment, iBeekeeper shows you on the colony until when the medicine’s withdrawal period runs and how many days are left.
Tasks with a time
In the web app you give a task a time, postpone the reminder with “Remind me in …” and create tasks for several colonies in one step. Each colony gets its own.
Also in the web app: import hive cards from CSV, XLS or XLSX files. And the interface is available in 23 languages.
Record-keeping obligation
Documenting treatments under Regulation (EU) 2019/6
Anyone who treats colonies with veterinary medicines must record every use, as required by Article 108 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6. In iBeekeeper, your records are created from the treatments you enter anyway.
- For each treatment you record the details required by Article 108: date and duration of the treatment, medicine, batch, amount, treated colonies, withdrawal period, name and address of the supplier, the proof of purchase and, if involved, the prescribing veterinarian.
- Every treatment and every feeding gets a sequential number per year, for example 2026-001. It also appears in the medicine record book and in the treatment journal.
- You enter the supplier, receipt and veterinarian on the treatment in the web app. iBeekeeper suggests the supplier from the medicine’s most recent stock receipt.
- Available as PDF are the varroa treatment journal, the medicine record book (Germany) for beekeepers in Germany, and for Switzerland the stock control and the inventory list of veterinary medicines under Art. 28 TAMV. Which forms you are offered depends on the country in your profile. You will find all reports in the web app under “Reports”.
- Once a year is complete, you close it. After that, a treatment can only be changed or cancelled with an amendment note, and every change is listed in the appendix “Changes after closing”.
- The medicine record book, treatment journal and inventory list as PDF are available with a package and during the trial period, and for 90 days after your contract ends. Data export under “Settings” is always free, even without a package.
- You enter treatments in the app or in the web app, for all colonies at an apiary in one step if you like. You can see directly on the colony until when a medicine’s withdrawal period runs.
You can export your data with all details of your treatments as CSV, JSON or ZIP at any time, even without a package.

Bienenvölker
The app for working at the apiary. You can make entries even when there is no signal, and the app syncs by itself later. On top of that come the frame grid and entries for all colonies at an apiary in one step. With a connection you speak your inspection, and iBee fills in the hive card.
On the iPhone it comes with an app for the Apple Watch: colonies and tasks on your wrist, and with a package also voice notes right at the colony.

Kasse
Sell honey at a market stall or in a farm shop, and your stock in storage adds up afterwards. You can take cash even without a signal, card payment at the terminal needs a connection. Kasse is part of the package, and you can try it out during the trial period.
Büro
Cash book with income and expenses, documents in folders and a yearly report with income and expenses per month. You photograph receipts with the camera or pick them from your photos and attach them to the entry.
Community

Colonies
Keep a clear overview of your colonies with our beekeeping management. You can adapt iBeekeeper to your own way of working, whether in the hive cards, the colony details or with handy quick buttons for new entries. This makes record-keeping easier and gives you more time for your bees.
Hive cards
You can adapt the iBeekeeper hive cards to your needs. You will find ready-made templates from experienced beekeepers that you can use straight away. If your requirements change, you can extend or redesign your hive cards at any time, without any programming knowledge.
Inventory
With inventory management you keep track of your supplies and materials. You can create different storage locations such as shelves or boxes, making it easier to find what you need right now. The handy best-before reminder helps you sell your products in good time before they expire.
Harvest
Record your various bee products, from honey, pollen and wax to royal jelly and propolis. You can sort your honey harvests by variety and assign them to the colonies concerned. Over time you will see which colonies are particularly hard-working and which honey varieties work well for you.
Apiaries
Whether you keep your bees in one fixed place or move them around as a migratory beekeeper: you can simply enter your apiaries by address or record them on site with your phone. From this, iBeekeeper creates a migration log that shows you when your colonies stood where. Handy for your records.
Bee weather
Once iBeekeeper knows where your bees are, our beekeeping software shows you the most important weather data for your work at the apiary. This helps you find good times for your beekeeping tasks and gives hints about how your colonies might behave, for example during swarming season. A little help with your planning.
Voice notes
With voice notes you can dictate your observations right at the hive instead of typing awkwardly with gloves on. You simply speak into your smartphone, and the app turns your words into text. This saves time and you won't forget any important details. Especially handy when you are working with the bees and want to note something down quickly.
Photos
A picture is worth a thousand words, in beekeeping too. With photos you document the condition of your colonies or special observations. You can take pictures of combs, the brood or the queen and attach them to your hive card entries. This way you can keep an eye on how your colonies are developing and, if needed, ask other beekeepers for advice.
Task lists
With task lists you keep track of upcoming work. You can create your own lists or use our templates and assign them to your colonies or apiaries. That way you always know what to do next, be it the varroa treatment, adding honey supers or other regular beekeeping tasks.
APITags
NFC chip with QR code for colonies and hive parts: if you scan a colony's tag with the app, it opens that colony.

How much does iBeekeeper cost?
For up to 5 colonies, iBeekeeper is free for good, with no time limit. Beyond that, the price depends on the number of your colonies. You will find all tiers on the pricing page.
Does the app work at the apiary without internet?
Yes. You make your entries at the colony, even without reception. As soon as your device is back online, the app syncs the data by itself, across all devices and in the browser.
Can I use it to document my varroa treatments?
Yes. You record the date, product, quantity and the treated colonies right at the apiary, and in the web app you add the batch, supplier, receipt and vet. From this, your medicine record book (Germany) is created as a PDF. For beekeepers in Switzerland, the stock control is available as a ready-made PDF.
Can the hive cards be adapted to the way I work?
Yes. You create your own fields, adopt ready-made templates from experienced beekeepers and set up quick buttons for anything you enter every time anyway.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You fall back to the free package and are not locked out. Your data is kept and not deleted. After your package expires, you can still export it for 90 days. Shortly before this period ends, we remind you by email.
