What the apiary demands
Apiary management that works at the hive
At the hive you rarely have a free hand and often no signal. That is what iBeekeeper is built for: record an inspection, log a treatment, note a harvest – offline too. What you enter stays with that colony, year after year.
Bee colonies
Keep a clear overview of your bee colonies with our apiary management. You can adapt iBeekeeper to your own way of working – whether for the hive records, the colony data or with practical quick buttons for new entries. This makes documentation easier and gives you more time for your bees.
Hive records
You can adapt the iBeekeeper hive records to your needs. You'll find ready-made templates from experienced beekeepers that you can use right away. When your requirements change, you can extend or redesign your hive records at any time – without any programming knowledge.
Inventory
With the inventory management you keep track of your supplies and materials. You can create different storage locations such as shelves or boxes and more easily find what you need right now. The handy best-before reminder helps you sell your products in time before they expire.
Harvest
Record your various bee products – from honey to pollen and wax through to royal jelly and propolis. You can sort your honey harvests by variety and assign them to the respective colonies. Over time you'll see which colonies are especially productive and which honey varieties work well for you.
Locations
Whether you keep your bees in one fixed place or move around as a migratory beekeeper – you can simply enter your locations by address or record them on site with your phone. iBeekeeper creates a migration log showing you when your colonies stood where – handy for your documentation.
Bee weather
When iBeekeeper knows your apiary location, our software shows you the most important weather data for your work at the apiary. This helps you find favourable moments for your beekeeping tasks and gives hints about the likely behaviour of your colonies, for example during swarming season. A little help for your planning.
Voice notes
With voice notes you can dictate your observations right at the hive instead of typing awkwardly with gloves on. You simply speak into your smartphone and the app turns your words into text. This saves time and you won't forget any important details. Especially handy when you're working with the bees and want to record something quickly.
Photos
A picture is worth a thousand words – even in beekeeping. With photos you document the state of your colonies or special observations. You can take pictures of combs, brood or the queen and assign them to your hive record entries. This way you keep an eye on how your colonies develop and can ask other beekeepers for advice when needed.
Task lists
With task lists you keep track of upcoming work. You can create your own lists or use our templates and assign them to your colonies or locations. This way you always know what to do next – whether it's the varroa treatment, adding honey supers or other regular beekeeping tasks.
APITags
NFC chip with QR code for the hive lid: hold your phone to it and the colony opens in the app.

Beekeepers about iBeekeeper
Our web application and our beekeeping apps for iOS and Android are used by beekeepers in various countries. We are delighted with the positive feedback on the apiary management, which helps us to keep improving the software. Here some beekeepers share their experiences with iBeekeeper:
iBeekeeper is a very good hive record. I can adapt it easily and individually to my needs. On top of that it's constantly being developed and the matching mobile apps are free! All in all an absolutely great product! I can only recommend it – every beekeeper should use it.
Danny Schröter · Imkerei Danney
A very good web application for managing your apiary and colonies.
Thomas Lepke
I've been using iBeekeeper for a while and am delighted with this really helpful extension. The app makes it possible to view the hive records and make new entries with the bees even without (good) internet access – these are then simply synced later when reception is better. I can also really only praise the support of the app and of iBeekeeper in general.
Igigkgih · AppStore Bewertung
Making entries with the bees and updating them at home – now so easy. And the support is great too.
Chrischma · AppStore Bewertung
After the update a great app that fully meets my expectations. Very clearly laid out, intuitive to use.
Symphyta · AppStore Bewertung
I've tested many beekeeping apps, but none was as good as iBeekeeper. I fill in the hive card right at the colony, even without a connection, and at home everything is already there. I adapt the cards exactly to how I work. That's what I always missed on paper.

Record-keeping duty
What you have to prove builds itself as you work
Keep a complete treatment record
Record date, product, amount and the treated colonies right at the hive – even with no signal. That becomes the basis for your treatment records.
Inspection report for Switzerland
Swiss and Liechtenstein beekeepers get the finished report as a PDF – in the form the bee inspector knows.
Keep varroa in view
Count the mite drop, extrapolate it and check whether the treatment worked – count and treatment sit with the same colony.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I document my varroa treatments with it?
Yes. You record date, product, amount and the treated colonies right at the apiary, which builds the basis for your treatment records. Swiss and Liechtenstein beekeepers also get the official inspection report as a PDF.
Can the hive cards be adapted to how I work?
Yes. You create your own fields, start from templates by experienced beekeepers and set up quick buttons for whatever you enter every time anyway.
Does the app work at the apiary without internet?
Yes. You record at the hive even with no signal. As soon as your device is back online the app syncs by itself – across all devices and in the browser.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You fall back to the free plan rather than being locked out: up to five colonies everything stays accessible. Anything beyond that is deleted one month after the term ends – you can export your records at any time before then.
What does iBeekeeper cost?
Up to 5 colonies iBeekeeper is free forever, with no time limit. Beyond that the price depends on the number of your colonies. All tiers are listed on the pricing page.
