The Turnip, also called turnip rape, flowers in May and June and, like rapeseed and mustard, belongs to the crucifer family. It provides nectar and pollen in the medium range and is pollinated by bees. In cultivation it stands on a smaller area than rapeseed but extends its flowering period. Turnip rape, together with cabbage, is one of the two ancestral species of rapeseed.
