Rosemary flowers in the Mediterranean region from autumn to spring, in our region mainly in spring and again in autumn. It is an evergreen subshrub of dry, calcareous slopes. In Spain, France and Italy it is one of the most important forage plants of all; the light rosemary honey is mild and crystallises finely. In Germany it only yields significantly in wine-growing areas and sheltered gardens. British measurements give around 210 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
