Conehead Thyme flowers from June to August on stony dry slopes in Greece, Crete and the Levant. It is the source of the famous Greek thyme honey, which is strongly aromatic and stays liquid for a long time. The plant is a low, tough subshrub and survives even hot, rainless summers there. It plays no role in Central Europe.
