Borage

Borago officinalis

Blütezeit
June–September
Nektar

Pollen
mittel

Borage flowers from June into October and, after being emptied, refills its flowers with nectar again within a short time. The nectar value is good to very good, the pollen value moderate to medium, and foraging continues from early to late in the day. It loves fresh, nutrient-rich soils and self-seeds further in the garden on its own. Worth noting is the beekeeping institutes' warning that borage honey and pollen can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
