Twin-leaf Squill flowers in March and April and provides good pollen with a moderate nectar value. It grows under woody plants and in parks on groundwater-fed or seepage-fresh, nutrient- and base-rich, humus-rich clay and loam soils. In naturalised stands it forms blue carpets that are heavily worked in sunshine. Together with crocus and winter aconite it covers the pollen demand in early spring.
