Common rue flowers from June to August and provides good nectar with equally good pollen value. It is an evergreen subshrub from the Mediterranean region and needs a warm, dry spot. Its yellow-green flowers present the nectar on open discs and are heavily visited. In the herb garden near the apiary it is one of the better supplementary summer forage plants.
