Common Hemp-agrimony flowers from July to September in large pink umbel-like clusters at pond edges, ditches and damp forest margins. The nectar value is good, the pollen value medium, and foraging by bees and butterflies is conspicuously strong. It needs seepage-fresh to damp, nutrient- and base-rich, often calcareous clay and loam soils. Worth noting is the forage lists' warning that its honey and pollen can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
