Wood crane's-bill flowers from May to July with blue-violet flowers in mountain woods, mountain meadows and on woodland edges. In the low mountain ranges and the Alps it characterises entire meadows. Its flowers stand upright and open, the nectar is easy to reach, and honeybees and bumblebees use it alike.
