Tufted Vetch flowers from June to August in dense blue-violet racemes along roadsides, embankments and in meadows. A good nectar value and a medium pollen value make it a reliable summer source. It climbs up grasses and perennials and holds on even in extensively managed grassland. Where mowing dates are late, it can produce for weeks.
