French honeysuckle flowers from April to June with bright carmine-red flower racemes. It comes from the Mediterranean region, is grown as a fodder plant in Italy and Spain and is known there under the name sulla. Its light, mild honey is one of the prized varietal honeys of southern Italy, and the flowering is extremely productive.
