Marsh woundwort flowers from June to August by ditches, in reed beds and on damp fields. It forms underground runners and quickly becomes a nuisance in wet fields. The pink labiate flowers sit in whorls and are heavily visited by bumblebees and regularly by honeybees. A supplementary forage of damp sites in high summer.
