The soybean flowers in July and August with inconspicuous white or violet flowers that are predominantly self-pollinating. Cultivation is steadily increasing in southern Germany and Austria. It provides only little nectar and irregularly, and whether a field yields depends heavily on variety and weather. It only becomes significant in large stands.
