The White Willow flowers in April and May, so a little later than the goat and grey willow, and provides plentiful nectar and pollen. It is one of the important spring flows because it offers both at once, exactly when the brood nest is growing. It often stands in large numbers by watercourses and in floodplain forests. Like all willows, it is dioecious, so only the male trees provide pollen.
