Foxglove
Digitalis purpurea
- Blütezeit
- June–July
- Nektar
- gut
- Pollen
- mäßig
Foxglove flowers in June and July on clear-cut areas, forest margins and in wildlife gardens. The nectar value is good, the pollen value low to moderate. It needs fresh, lime-poor, moderately acidic, loosely humus-rich soils and is biennial, though it reliably self-seeds. Because of its deep flower bells it is used above all by bumblebees, but also by honeybees.
