The Pot Marigold (Calendula) flowers from June into November and is thus one of the longest-lived summer flowers in the garden. Both nectar and pollen value are consistently rated medium; what matters is the sheer length of the flowering period. It makes almost no demands on the soil and self-seeds. Only single-flowered varieties are usable, double-flowered cultivars provide nothing for the bees.
