The New England Aster flowers from August to October and is thus one of the most important autumn flows in the garden. Both nectar and pollen value are rated good. It needs nutrient-rich, not too dry soils and grows very tall, so it usually needs support. Because it produces into October, it directly supports the build-up of winter bees.
