The Plum flowers in April and May, in the fruit bloom between cherry and apple. It offers only a moderate amount of nectar and pollen and therefore does not rank among the strong fruit-tree flows. On traditional orchard meadows it supplements the colonies' spring development together with cherry and apple. For fruit set, bee visits are decisive.
