The Spindle Tree flowers in May with small greenish-white flowers. The nectar value lies in the medium range, the pollen value is low. The shrub stands on fresh, nutrient- and base-rich clay and loam soils on forest margins, in hedges, floodplains and green spaces. It is not a supporting flow but, as a hedge plant, supplements the supply between fruit bloom and the summer flow.
