The Pasque Flower flowers in March and April on calcareous dry grassland and sunny dry slopes. The nectar value is moderate, the pollen value good, with the bees mainly collecting the abundant yellow pollen. It needs poor, calcareous, sunny sites and is a protected species. For the apiary it is one of the few early pollen sources on dry, poor sites.
