The Cornflower flowers from June into October and provides nectar and pollen equally well. It comes from the arable weed flora and grows on fresh, nutrient-rich, especially lime-poor loam and sandy soils. In flower mixes and on flowering strips it is one of the most reliable continuous bloomers and is also used by many wild bee species. For the apiary it is interesting above all as a trickle flow in midsummer, once the major flows are over.
