The Striped Squill flowers in March and April with pale blue, dark-striped star-shaped flowers. It comes from the Caucasus and western Asia and is planted as a bulb in autumn. It is undemanding and naturalises in lawns. Together with crocus and squill it forms part of the early pollen supply in gardens and parks.
