The Nasturtium flowers from June until the first frost with orange-red flowers that bear a long spur. It comes from South America and climbs over beds, fences and window boxes. The nectar sits deep in the spur, so bumblebees reach it first. Honeybees then use the flowers that bumblebees have bitten open. British measurements give around 1.2 milligrams of sugar per flower per day.
