The Japanese Flowering Quince flowers in March and April, often even before the cornelian cherry, and then provides very abundant pollen with a good nectar supply. It commonly stands in hedges and against house walls but is rarely recognised as a flow. For colonies coming out of winter rest, the combination of both at this time is worth more than the quantity.
