Black Medick, also called hop clover, flowers from May to September in small yellow heads. The nectar value is good, the pollen value low to medium. It grows on summer-warm, moderately dry, base-rich loam soils along roadsides, in dry grassland and meadows and is recommended as seed for species-rich flower meadows. Because of its long flowering period it provides a trickle flow spread across the whole summer.
