Hollow Corydalis flowers in March and April in floodplain forests and under hedges and provides good pollen with a moderate nectar value. The long flower spur makes the nectar hard for honeybees to reach; they often use holes bitten open by bumblebees. It grows on nutrient-rich, humus-rich woodland soils and dies back again as early as May. For the apiary it is a purely early-spring build-up flow.
