Jacob's Ladder flowers in June and July and provides both very good nectar and very good pollen. It needs fresh, nutrient-rich soils and stands in perennial beds, at pond edges and in cottage gardens. Foraging activity begins early in the day and is unusually strong for a garden perennial. This makes it one of the most valuable perennials that can be planted right at the apiary.
