Ground Ivy flowers from March to May and is thus one of the first widespread herbaceous flows of the year. The nectar value is good, the pollen value medium. It grows creeping on fresh to wet, nutrient- and base-rich loam soils in meadows, under hedges and in gardens. Because it also forms dense carpets in partial shade, it provides surprisingly much even on cool spring days.
