In the Guelder Rose only the small flowers in the centre of the flower head carry nectar and pollen; the conspicuous white rim is sterile. The nectar value is rated good, the pollen value low. The garden form snowball bush, with a purely spherical flower head, consists only of these sterile flowers and provides nothing.
