Redshank flowers from June to October with dense pink flower spikes in fields, along ditches, and on damp ground. Its leaves usually bear a dark spot. It flowers for a long time and provides nectar and pollen, and on damp stubble fields a considerable amount comes together in late summer. British measurements give around 20 micrograms of sugar per flower per day and a nectar yield of around 17 kilograms of sugar per hectare per year.
