Redshank flowers from June to October with dense, pink flower spikes on arable land, in ditches and on damp soil. Its leaves usually bear a dark blotch. It flowers for a long time and provides nectar and pollen, and on damp stubble fields a considerable amount comes together in late summer. British measurements give around 20 micrograms of sugar per flower per day and a nectar yield of around 17 kilograms of sugar per hectare per year.
