The Serviceberry (Juneberry) flowers in April and May and is visited by bees. It provides nectar and pollen in early spring and is widespread as an ornamental shrub in gardens and parks. How productive it is depends heavily on the species: the true serviceberry is rated a good nectar source, while the copper-leaved serviceberry common in gardens is rated only moderate. Its bloom is short but comes early and supplements willow and fruit bloom.
