Field Maple
Acer campestre
- Blütezeit
- April–May
- Nektar
- sehr gut
- Pollen
- mäßig
The Field Maple flowers in April and May with inconspicuous green-yellow flowers and provides a very good nectar value. The pollen value is low to medium; at that time the colony covers its protein needs better through willow and fruit bloom anyway. It grows in hedges, field copses and forest margins on fresh, nutrient- and base-rich loam soils and also tolerates urban climates. Because it often occurs in large numbers as a hedge plant, it is an underrated early flow right before the fruit bloom.
