Sainfoin

Onobrychis viciifolia

Flowering period
May–July
Nectar
sehr gut
Pollen
sehr gut

Sainfoin flowers from May to July in pink racemes and is an outstanding bee forage plant: both nectar and pollen are rated very rich. It is lime-loving and grows on warm, moderately dry, poor soils where other forage plants fail. As a forage crop it was once widespread and is being sown more often again today. For dry sites it is one of the very best forage plants there is.
