Lady's Bedstraw flowers from June to August in dense, honey-yellow clusters and has a strong scent while doing so. Both nectar and pollen value are rated medium. It grows on dry, base-rich dry grassland, embankments and roadside verges. Because of the large number of flowers per plant, the yield still adds up noticeably on dry sites.
