Marsh Mallow flowers from July to September with pale pink flowers above velvety, hairy, grey-green foliage. It grows in saline meadows and ditches and is cultivated as a medicinal plant; marshmallows were once made from its root. The open flowers provide plenty of pollen and are well worked in high summer.
