The Star-of-Bethlehem flowers in April and May with white star-shaped flowers that are striped green on the outside. It grows in old lawns, traditional orchards and vineyards and only opens its flowers in the late morning. After flowering it quickly dies back. The open flowers provide pollen and some nectar in spring.
