Purple Loosestrife flowers from June to September in long purple-red spikes at pond edges, ditches and in wet meadows. Both nectar and pollen value are rated good. It needs wet to alternately moist, nutrient- and base-rich clay and loam soils. Because it flowers on for months and also produces in wet summers, it is a reliable addition to the summer flow.
