The Bee-Bee Tree, also called the velvet-haired stinking ash, flowers in July and August in large white umbel-like panicles. Both nectar and pollen value are rated very good to good, and foraging is exceptionally strong in warm weather. It is vulnerable to late frost and should therefore only be planted in sheltered sites. As a specimen tree at the apiary it provides forage right in the summer gap after the lime bloom.
