False indigo-bush flowers in June and July with dark violet flower spikes from which bright orange anthers protrude. It comes from North America and is widespread along rivers in south-eastern Europe. There it is regarded as an important bee forage plant, and in Hungary and Serbia its honey is marketed separately.
