Spignel flowers from May to July on poor mountain meadows of the low mountain ranges and bears finely divided, strongly aromatic leaves. The well-known herbal schnapps is made from its root. The white umbels are openly accessible and are searched by honeybees, wild bees and hoverflies alike.
