The Midland hawthorn flowers in May and June and provides moderate nectar with moderate pollen value. It is a shrub or small tree of open woods, hedges and woodland edges and bears two to three styles per flower. Its white corymbs are heavily visited during flowering. In field hedges, together with common hawthorn, it provides a dense early-summer forage.
