Lamb's ear flowers from June to August and is noticeable above all for its densely felted, silvery-grey leaves. It comes from the Near East and is planted as bed edging. The small pink flowers are tucked into the felt of the flower spikes. The wool carder bee collects its nesting hairs here; honeybees collect nectar as long as the spikes are left standing. British measurements give around 640 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
