Orange mullein flowers from June to September and can be recognised by the decurrent leaf wings and the flat, spread-out flowers. It grows on gravel areas, railway embankments and roadsides. Like all mulleins it provides hardly any nectar, but large quantities of pollen, and does so over many weeks.
