The wild pansy flowers from April to September in fields, on fallow land and in poor meadows and is the ancestral form of the garden pansies. Its flowers are marked in yellow to violet. The nectar sits in the spur and is difficult for honeybees to reach; bumblebees and wild bees manage better. British measurements give around 42 micrograms of sugar per flower per day.
