Hedge mustard flowers from May to September with tiny yellow flowers along paths, walls and on rubble. Its seed pods lie close against the stem, which makes it unmistakable. It was known as a cough remedy for singers. The small flowers provide pollen and little nectar, but flower throughout the summer. British measurements give around 2 micrograms of sugar per flower per day, around 3,689 pollen grains per flower and a nectar yield of around 2 kilograms of sugar per hectare per year.
