Marsh cinquefoil flowers from May to July with dark red, star-shaped flowers in bogs, silting-up zones and wet meadows. It belongs to the rose family, but with its sombre colour it looks quite different. The flowers are open and are readily visited by honeybees and wild bees in early summer.
