French lavender flowers from April to June and can be recognised by the striking, ear-shaped bracts above the flower spike. It grows on acid soils in the western Mediterranean region and is sold in our region as a container plant. It flowers earlier than the other lavenders and is therefore a spring forage in southern Europe.
